My deepest condolences.  May these few words from the Holy Scriptures bring you comfort in your time of grief...

John 11:32-45

32 And so Mary, when she arrived where Jesus was and caught sight of him, fell at his feet, saying to him: “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” 33 Jesus, therefore, when he saw her weeping and the Jews that came with her weeping, groaned in the spirit and became troubled; 34 and he said: “Where have YOU laid him?” They said to him: “Lord, come and see.” 35 Jesus gave way to tears. 36 Therefore the Jews began to say: “See, what affection he used to have for him!” 37 But some of them said: “Was not this [man] that opened the eyes of the blind man able to prevent this one from dying?”

38 Hence Jesus, after groaning again within himself, came to the memorial tomb. It was, in fact, a cave, and a stone was lying against it. 39 Jesus said: “TAKE the stone away.” Martha, the sister of the deceased, said to him: “Lord, by now he must smell, for it is four days.” 40 Jesus said to her: “Did I not tell you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” 41 Therefore they took the stone away. Now Jesus raised his eyes heavenward and said: “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42 True, I knew that you always hear me; but on account of the crowd standing around I spoke, in order that they might believe that you sent me forth.” 43 And when he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice: “Laz´a·rus, come on out!” 44 The [man] that had been dead came out with his feet and hands bound with wrappings, and his countenance was bound about with a cloth. Jesus said to them: “Loose him and let him go.”

45 Therefore many of the Jews that had come to Mary and that beheld what he did put faith in him;

Annalisa Weigand-Dowdell An Extraordinary Person January 14, 2011
Dear Schwartz family,

Very often, when I think of Cara, I wonder why this had to happen to someone like her, when she was so full of joy, love, and pure kindness. She certainly did not deserve for anything bad to happen to her...then I also think of the many ways in which she was very fortunate. Many people, whether the lives they live are long or short, will never experience the kind of love that I know you gave her. Though I have known Cara since we were kids, I never really got the chance to get to know her family. However, I feel like I know you all, because you guys were pretty much all Cara talked about. Of course, she had special friends, such as Jessica, Candi, Tammy and Dana, and anyone who knew Cara well knew all about them too. But most of all, she always spoke of how much she loved her family. She talked about how devoted her dad was to her, about how much work he had to miss to take her to appointments, and how he stayed with her when she was sick. She knew that a lot of people never even knew their fathers, and yet she had the best dad she could possibly ask for. She also spoke so fondly of her mom and her special aunt, who were both real heroes and inspirations to her (and how because they both set such fantastic examples for her, she never could fully decide whether to be a nurse or a teacher). Finally, she spoke of Anna and Ethan, and how much she loved them, and how excited she was to know that they were growing up and following their dreams.

Thank you for giving the world a chance to know such an extraordinary person. Every single person who met Cara was made better for knowing her. In my mind, I can see her sparkling eyes and beautiful smile, and hear her wonderful and unique laugh...she made such an impression on me and on everyone who knew her. Honestly, not many people can claim to be pure and free from malice or negativity, but I really think that Cara was one of the only people I have ever met who fit that description. She was just too good and special for words to express.

I am praying for you, that God watch over you and comfort you while you grieve Cara's passing. I know she is still with you everyday, watching over you and sharing in your joys and sorrows. While her time on Earth was too short in many ways, she also had such a positive effect on so many people, in the time she was here. Thank you for bringing such a wonderful person into the world. I know that it takes an extraordinary family to raise such a fine human being. I am sure Cara feels the same way about you. May God bless your family and keep you in His care.

Sincerely,
Annalisa Weigand-Dowdell
